Dealing with some weird medical stuff

Dealing with some weird medical stuff

I don’t even know where to start with this issue I have been having. Mainly because I don’t really know what is wrong or how worried I should really be.

It all started on Saturday night when my in-laws were over to play cards. While we were just hanging out and chatting, all of a sudden my head felt like it dropped. It felt like I passed out for just half of a second. No one even noticed that it happened but me. I stood up and walked around and things seemed to be fine. I felt just a little dizzy for a bit. I think later going to bed that my head felt like it had a little bit of pressure to it.

I woke up on Sunday and was feeling just tired but fine. Sunday I lifted weights and had a fun date night. Monday I woke up for work still feeling fine and when I got to work I went into the lunch room to get coffee and was talking to someone and the head drop happened again. Same half-second drop and same that no one else noticed but me. I drove to urgent care just to get checked out. The only thing they found was slightly high blood pressure that I should probably get a better handle on. But nothing that should be causing that sort of issue. I went back to work and finished out my day.

Tuesday I woke up and went to work feeling fine. I had a very normal day and took two walks outside. I was hoping I was out of the woods from this weird issue. I got home and we headed over to a kayak picnic with our church friends. While I was driving there I started to feel a little bit off. By the time I got over to where the picnic was, I was feeling really weird and like my heart was racing. I checked my pulse on my watch and it was 115 while I was standing still. It didn’t seem to be going away so I had my son drive me to the ER to get checked out. They did an EKG, Chest X-Ray, and Blood. All were perfect. I was a little low on magnesium. They want me to wear a heart monitor to watch for an arrhythmia.

I had a pretty good day working from home on Wednesday. Felt a little off but not much. Thursday I felt okay but my head was hurting, eyes were sore, and I was feeling a bit dizzy/sick when moving my eyes around. It really made my head feel like it does after I get through the most painful part of a migraine. After thinking about this more and more I was beginning to wonder if this whole strange thing was some weird migraine. I have experienced some of the ocular vision throughout this week that never turned into a full-blown migraine.

Friday I woke up and went to work feeling a little less dizzy and less eye pain than Thursday. Still feeling like the tail end of a migraine. I took some migraine meds to see if it treated the last parts of this weird feeling. It did seem to reduce the pain and vision dizziness.

I am really hoping I am at the end of this thing. I don’t mind ignoring it if it’s a migraine. I’ve been having migraines since I was in middle school, so I’m pretty used to just dealing with them at this point. I was just getting really freaked out not knowing what was causing this and worried there was something major wrong with me. I’m not saying I’m completely out of the woods from something bad yet, but feeling less worried now. I do plan to wear the heart monitor once I get it in the next week or two, just to rule out more issues.
